Business Activities

Based in Luxembourg, Lombard’s business activities are principally in Europe. Under the EU’s single market directive, Lombard operates in Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden and the UK. Further afield, the Asian and Latin American markets are an area of growth. Lombard’s cross-border life assurance policies account for around 30% of the market share.

These are the key financial figures from Lombard’s 2010 annual results:

• New business premium income rose to a record €3.5bn, up 15% (2009: €3.1bn)
• Funds under management rose to €20bn (2009: €16.25bn) the highest level ever, with compound annual growth rate for the past 10 years of 25%.
